Baby Coal has likely been around for two weeks now, but this is my first glimpse of him! Black like mama! Handsome like daddy!
Welcome to your world, baby boy!

Awwww… all those babies are just soo sweet. What luck that you saw Aghavni so soon after she was born!
Proud carriage for such a little one. Who’s his Daddy? I’m new to many of the bands, and can’t tell the players without a program!
Hello Linda –
We’ve been to the basin several times since 2008 and Coal’s father is David, a stunning (we think) big bay with a white stripe down his face. There’s a great photo TJ took of him on her 2011 Calendar for the month of June! Needless to say, we keep tons of notes – it’s the only way to know “who’s who!!”

Thanks, ladies. Just peeked at June, and no argument that David is stunning! All the SCB horses are so well-proportioned and good looking. I need to start keeping notebooks to identify individuals and better understand their relationships and herd dynamics.
Sara – I was stunned. I didn’t expect her until into May. I’m pretty sure my visitors were taken a little aback when I squealed with excitement!
Yes, David is daddy of little Coal – and Wind, Coal’s big brother. Lynn and Kathy do a great job of keeping track of all the horses! 🙂
Yes! Shadow’s had her baby! He’s beautiful!
Isn’t he a handsome little guy? 🙂
